Sweden's Government:
Modern Monarchy and Everything that Goes With It
Constitutional Monarchy: The Swedish monarchy is considered to be the most modern of monarchies. The monarch's main duties are to make state visits, stay up to date on foreign and domestic affairs, and to be a figure head that represents Sweden both to the Swedish and to foreigners. Many jobs that are similar to those of other royalty in constitutional monarchs.
Another, well-known, job of the king to help award the Nobel Prizes each year in Stockholm.
The Riksdag: Sweden's parliament is known as the Riksdag. This is where laws and new amendments are sent to be passed. Basically, the Riksdag does what most modern parliaments do when in a constitutional monarchy.
The Riksdag has 349 representatives, and each representative is an elected official with a four year term. Political Parties: The photo in the far right corner places all of Sweden's parties on a political spectrum. It helps to group what parties are more similar to others.
